Topping Rose House Custom Cubby Shelving Units to Separate the Room for Private Events

Topping Rose House, in the heart of Bridgehampton, has become a premier location for luxury accommodations, dining and incredible events. Having produced events throughout the multiple diverse spaces on the property, it has become one of our favorite venues to transform. For a weekend long birthday celebration in December 2019, we worked alongside Sag Harbor Florist and Hampton’s Art of Eating to create some memorable spaces throughout the different events. The first event of the weekend was a music themed cocktail party in The Studio of Topping Rose House. To warm up this space, we constructed a wall of alternating Rustic Wood Cubby Shelving Units, condensing The Studio to a smaller more intimate space for this special evening.  The cubbies in the wall served as a backbar unit for the bartenders, and provided a perfect space for the guest of honors personal record collection to be showcased. Following this event, the Events Manager- Samantha Voutsinas reached out to us to discuss the upcoming redesign they had planned for The Studio. They loved how the Shelving Units transformed the space with ease, and wanted us to produce a set for them to purchase. This would give them the ability to modify the space at a moments notice. Since this was a custom fabrication, we were able to include the client in every step of the design process. From meeting in The Studio to see the new flooring they’d installed, to having them join us at our shop to see different wood and stain options for the units, it was truly a collaborative effort. We decided to make oversized cubbies in some of the units, to create depth and dimension, as well as accommodate magnum champagne bottles that are sometimes utilized in the backbar displays. This was a detail we never would have considered, if not working collaboratively with Samantha and her team. The new ambiance of The Studio was a brighter more airy feel, that utilized the sunshine that enters from both walls of floor to ceiling windows in the space. Keeping this in mind, we went with a bright white stain, which was a huge contrast to the original rustic units we brought in for the cocktail party. Once they were installed, it totally transformed the space and was the perfect finishing touch to their beautiful redesign.
